Guardian Village
Guardian Village is a 48-unit affordable housing community designed to serve low-income families and farmworkers in Reedley, California. The development spans a 2-acre site and features 60,581 square feet of building area, including four three-story apartment buildings, one two-story apartment building, and a single-story community building. The unit mix comprises 22 one-bedroom, 14 two-bedroom, and 12 three-bedroom apartments, all equipped with energy-efficient appliances, lighting, and washer/dryer hookups.
The community building serves as a hub for residents and includes multi-purpose spaces for social gatherings. It is equipped with a community kitchen, office space with computers available for resident use, and an afterschool program room. As a tribute to the history of the site, the sign from the former Reedley National Guard Armory building, reading "California National Guard," has been preserved and installed inside the community building. Outdoor amenities include a playground, foosball table, picnic and BBQ areas, a dog park, and EV-ready parking. The project provides 71 vehicle parking spaces, including 4 accessible spaces, and 17 bike racks.
